[edit]DescriptionFuxi and Nüwa. National Museum of Korea.jpg |
English: This picture is one of the 10 Fuxi Nuwa maps excavated by the Japanese Otani expedition from Turpan, Xinjiang. It originally belonged to the Korean Governor's Palace Museum and returned to the National Central Museum of South Korea after World War II.
Material: Silk Weaving - Hemp Dimensions: 189.0×79.0 cm Collection No.: 4027 This "Picture of Fuxi Nuwa" was found in Astana's tomb in Turpan. The theme is Fuxi and Nuwa appearing in Chinese creation mythology. Turpan is an early area integrated into Han culture, where Chinese elements or characteristics are often found in the burial objects unearthed. In the center of the picture, the two gods look at each other, with Nu Wa on the left and Fuxi on the right. The two gods hold regular and curved rulers (curved rulers), symbolizing the traditional Chinese cosmological view of the full place. The upper body is human, and the lower body is in the shape of a snake wrapped around each other. There are many small holes on the edge of the figure, which is presumed to be a trace of nails left when the picture was hung on the roof. The statue first outlines the outline with heavy ink thread and then coated with thick red and white pigments. The background is painted with the sun, moon and stars, forming a small universe. Although the performance of details is not meticulous, it has attracted much attention for its bright colors and balanced composition.
