„Strangely modern, yet typical of its period ... June 1905 ... this seal coat with ermine collar, revers and cuffs is distinct Directoire styling, was the last word in evening richness and elegances. At the opera, at the horse show in the old Madison Square Garden (then really at Madison Squarel) this type was much admired.“
