| Description |
English: Front Entrance of Nuffield Place. This photo shows the front entrance taken from the North. It dates from 1914 and was the home of William Morris, later Lord Nuffield, from 1933 until his death in 1963. It was then bequeathed to Nuffield College Oxford who looked after the house and its contents until 2012 when it was passed onto The National Trust. The house and collection provide a glimpse into the life of Lord Nuffield, founder of Morris Motor Cars, who was a modest millionaire as well as being a philanthropist. Now open to the public, the house reflects the tastes of the 1930s. Two vintage cars and one new car can be seen in front of the house. For SatNav purposes,the postcode of this house is RG9 5RY. |
