English: Frinton-on-Sea: Sandy Hook Breakwater The breakwater is not shown on the 1880 Ordnance Survey map but is on the 1898 edition suggesting that it was part of the original sea defences constructed to stabilize the beach and cliffs during the late Victorian development of the town. The distance to the beacon marking the end of the breakwater is about 100 yards. |
