Summary
[edit]DescriptionFridel Meyer (25a).JPG |
Fridel Engert née Meyer (1904–1982), known to the public at that time as Fridel Meyer and in later years as Fridel Dalling-Hay, having set out in her kayak from Westminster, London, England, with the intention of circumnavigating the UK. Showing Meyer and her rival contender Nolan, having been arrested by War Department Constabulary at the Army shooting range at Shoeburyness, a prohibited area into which they had accidentally trespassed when choosing a landing spot from the River Thames. Note: A full attempt has been made, via libraries, books, magazines, collections, archives, internet etc., to establish the name of the author. None has been found. Note to editors: Please do not replace the original upload of this image. It is an artwork based on a very bad microfilm copy in the British Library. Thus, in terms of art, it is better than the microfilm. If you prefer the original bad microfilm, please upload it to a separate filepage. Thank you. |
