Deutsch: Grabmal des Reichsgrafen Franz von Sickingen († 1834) auf dem Friedhof von Sauerthal, Rhein-Lahn-Kreis.
Letzter Nachkomme des berühmten Geschlechtes und Ritter der Sauerburg. Der Wiesbadener Historiker Dr. Karl Rossel ließ das Grabmal 1845 errichten. Die Inschrift lautet: "Franz von Sickingen Reichsgraf. Seines Stammes der Letzte. Von einem Freunde vaterländischer Geschichte." Inschrift auf der Rückseite: "Er starb im Elend, 1834". English: Tomb of Count Franz von Sickingen (d. 1834) in the Sauerthal cemetery in the Rhein-Lahn district. Last descendant of the famous family and knight of the Sauerburg. The Wiesbaden historian Dr. Karl Rossel had the tomb built in 1845. The inscription reads: "Franz von Sickingen Imperial Count. The last of his tribe. From a friend of patriotic history." Inscription on the back: "He died in misery, 1834". |
