Deutsch: Typische Häuserzeile der Frankfurter Altstadt, von einer Lichtdruck-Postkarte um die Jahrhundertwende.
Das Bild zeigt den Blick vom Domplatz die Kannengiessergasse hinab - der Name leitet sich von dort im Mittelalter angesiedelten Handwerkern ab. Die gezeigte Stelle wurde nach dem dort befindlichen Haus Zum Luther (rechts im Bild) benannt. Der Name des Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts erbauten Hauses wiederum leitete sich von einer auf ihm befindlichen Relieftafel mit dem Kopf Martin Luthers ab, mittels dessen sich sein Besitzer als Protestant bekannte. Da die Kannengiessergasse im Krieg vollständig zerstört und neu bebaut wurde, ist eine örtliche Zuordnung heute nur noch schwer möglich. Urheberrechtliche Ansprüche dürften aufgrund des Alters erloschen sein. |
