Description
English: Fragment of medieval gilt copper alloy probable buckle plate (or possible mount), rectangular plate with a broken edges and remains of lower edge and end, two rivet-holes at the attachment edge, both with copper alloy rivet, one with rectangular copper alloy rove on reverse. The face of the plate has the remains of engraved decoration comprising the rear end of a beast passant to dexter, with short engraved lines on the coat, reserved on a field of rocker-arm within a border. Extant length 20mm. Extant width 28.5mm. 1mm thick. 13th-century.
