Description

A fountain has existed in Fountain Court since 1681. On a plaque fixed to the rim of the fountain In October 1976 this fountain was presented by Adrianne Uziell-Hamilton in memory of her father Marcus Grantham, a member of Middle Temple who died on 26th May 1975. On another plaque fixed to the rim of the fountain "Brilliantly the Temple Fountain sparkled in the sun, and laughingly its liquid music played and merrily the idle drops of water danced and danced, and peeping out in sport among the trees, plunged lightly down to hide themselves" Martin Chuzzlewit, Charles Dickens..

. Probably the best time of year too show the Middle temple hall in the background, from this angle anyway, although the light is not so good.

Middle Temple Hall..Built between 1562 and 1573 remains virtually unchanged to this day having survived the Great Fire of London in 1666 and both World Wars. Middle Temple continues to service the legal profession today, and also houses some of the most imposing event space in London available for formal dinners, weddings, meetings, receptions, corporate events, garden parties and outdoor functions. The Queens’s room and Parliament Chamber are both licensed for Wedding and Civil Partnership ceremonies.
