Description
English: Fossiliferous limestone from the Pennsylvanian of Ohio, USA. (cross-section view)

The Ames Limestone is one of youngest marine limestone intervals in Ohio's stratigraphic column. Fossils are typical Late Paleozoic marine invertebrates. Whitish areas encircling some clasts in this material are encrusting foraminifera, Tolypammina sp.

Stratigraphy: upper part of Ames Limestone, top of the Glenshaw Formation, middle Conemaugh Group, Missourian Series, lower Upper Pennsylvanian

Locality: undisclosed outcrop in Bloom Township, northern Morgan County, southeastern Ohio, USA
