Fossil Clams and Snails

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Fossil shells are one of the most common fossils in the Philippines. The hard shell made up of carbonate decays much slower than the soft internal parts of clams and snails. Sometimes, when the hard shells become completely dissolved, only the patterns and shapes of the shells are preserved in the rock as fossils.
