| Description | Fort Perch Rock and lighthouse. The fort was completed in 1829 by Captain John Sykes Kitson of the Royal Engineers to guard the approaches to the Mersey estuary. The lighthouse was constructed about the same time by John Foster Junior, surveyor to Liverpool Corporation. |
