Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The former Standard Theatre at the SE corner of Washington St & Occidental. Built in 1889 by John Cort and designed by Towle & Wilcox, Cort would move his base of operations to the Grand Opera House at the turn of the century. By the time of this tax photo in the late 1930s the building was only occupied on the ground floor by small shops. After being damaged by the 1949 earthquake this entire row of buildings was reduced to 1-story and all were demolished by 1965 for parking lots. This is now the site of Weyerhauser's Headquarters.
