General Design Layout for Understanding Music Theory on Guitar

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The top section consists of three lines; 1. the Major Scale Formula through two octaves, 2. the Letter Names of the C Major Scale aligned to the formula, 3. the Twelve Tone Equal Tempered Frequencies as a geometric progression derived from a starting frequency of A = 440 and a common ratio of the twelfth root of two or (2^(1/12))

Sometimes a Piano Keyboard image is substituted, sometimes a continuous frequency spectrum to recall the Real Number Line. The Scale Formula and Letter Names are changed as needed.

The middle contains a small text box which is sometimes replaced by a Circle of Fourths and Fifths and a Guitar Staff (with an 8 written under the G Clef to indicate the pitches are an octave lower than the G Clef in piano notation on the Grand Staff), and Tablature (which can be readily compared to the fretboard immediately below)

The lower part is an abstract of the fretboard of a 19 fret Classical Guitar with the absolute frequencies of standard tuning and which can be changed to the Letter Names for any desired scale. Alternate Tunings will be expressed as time allows, but so much of the Music Theory is based around "Common Practice Period" Music (Classical 1600-1910 or so) that I haven't yet done so.
