Summary
[edit]DescriptionFootpath beside River Leven - geograph.org.uk - 1158066.jpg |
English: Footpath beside River Leven. A cycle route follows the western bank of the River Leven all the way from Balloch to Dumbarton (although it bypasses the loops of Cordale Point and Dalquhurn Point).
However, the eastern bank, shown here, has no equivalent path along its full length. (Another section of footpath on the eastern bank is 897469, but that is not joined to the footpath shown here.) The footpath shown in this photograph can be followed north-west to the footbridge that crosses the Leven, 1157989, and some way beyond it. However, in the opposite direction (as shown here), the path does not follow the river bank much further, but leads instead to an open area that contains large mounds of rubble: 1158049. From there, turning left and then walking only a few metres leads to the road that encircles the Vale of Leven Industrial Estate; alternatively, continuing in the original direction takes the walker towards nearby Strathleven House: 1058768. |
