Summary
[edit]DescriptionFootbridge across River Calder, Cromwell Bottom - geograph.org.uk - 707288.jpg |
English: Footbridge across River Calder, Cromwell Bottom. The bridge is a 'Bailey' bridge of the type used by army engineers to provide quick access across obstacles. It is prefabricated in sections and bolted together. No doubt, the bridge was erected to give access for gravel extraction and subsequent landfill in the valley floor. It now is used as a footbridge within the nature reserve, with occasional use by maintenance vehicles. |
