Description
Français : "Fontaine à deux jets avec bassin de roche blanche en rectangle allongé par deux demi-cercles et colonne de section octogonale avec chapiteau à feuilles d'acanthe supportant quatre dauphins sculptés. Œuvre de l'architecte Joseph Collart et du sculpteur Louis Dorcière, elle fut réalisée en 1844-1845 pour remplacer une fontaine installée en 1711 et déjà signalée avec deux jets en 1807. Le concours ouvert en 1844 avait été gagné par Jean-Daniel Blavignac. La fontaine subit d'importants dommages durant la fête du Tir fédéral de 1851 et fut complètement restaurée. Petit bassin rectangulaire. Restauration probable en 1922. Fontaine classée en 1921." Sources : Livre "Les fontaines de Genève" de Armand Brulhart
