Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Fluorite
Locality: Rogerley Mine, Frosterley, Weardale, North Pennines, County Durham, England, UK (Locality at mindat.org)
Size: cabinet, 36 x 29 x 6.4 cm
Fluorite
weight = 20 pounds This gorgeous specimen literally glows with vivid deep green color. The crystals are naturally lustrous and glassy, and GEMMY as heck. The average xls are gemmy as little ice cubes, and in size to 1.7 cm. Some are penetration-twinned in classic style. There must be hundreds of them here, making this one of the very best large display-sized specimens to come out of recent mining at this reopened old location.
