Enda Kenny Launches College Recruitment Campaign ‘Change Is Coming – Join The Winning Team’ 16-9-09 Picture shows Fine Gael Party Leader Enda Kenny TD speaking to the media at the launch of Young Fine Gael’s college recruitment campaign to hit over 20 colleges throughout the country.Pic:Maxpix-no fee Fine Gael Party Leader Enda Kenny T.D., today (Wednesday)launched Young Fine Gael’s college recruitment campaign to hit over 20 colleges throughout the country. “Young people have been the hardest hit by Fianna Fáil’s mismanagement of the economy. Fine Gael is offering them an alternative. “Our party wants a different direction for the country, one in which young people can see a bright future rather than one that will be mired in debt and uncertainty. “It is apt that we launch this campaign on the first day that the Dáil debates NAMA. This €90 billion gamble will be placed more heavily on the shoulders of the young just as the tragedy of unemployment has laid waste to their hopes for the future. “Shockingly, those between the ages of 18 and 25 make up one quarter of people on the Live Register. One hundred thousand of our young people are out of work. Half of all mortgages granted during the ‘boom years’ were to those under 30. There are no bailouts or quick fixes being proposed for them.

“Fine Gael has set out a alternative to NAMA, we have outlined a different direction for the third level sector, and, through our NewERA plan, €11 billion in new investments creating 100,000 jobs. “Fine Gael is offering change to young people. We welcome their involvement in politics and will encourage them to run for election. We had 60 young Councillors elected in the Local Elections and will strive to continue this success.” PIC:MAXPIX-NO FEE
