NACALA, Mozambique (June 19, 2012) Coast Guard Auxilliary Lt. j.g. Leo Fierro translates instructions from Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Paul McNair as he shows Mozambican sailors and marines how to apply a tourniquet to a victim, aboard High Speed Vessel Swift (HSV 2). McNair and Stirling are from Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF) 12.2, Security Cooperation Team 6, and are aboard Swift as part of African Partnership Station (APS) 2012. APS is an international security cooperation initiative facilitated by Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and collaborative activities to improve maritime safety and security in Africa.
