| Description | ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 27, 2012) Sailors aboard the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock-landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) moor a landing craft utility (LCU) in the well deck. Gunston Hall is underway participating in Bold Alligator 2012. Bold Alligator is the largest naval amphibious exercise in the past 10 years and represents the Navy and Marine Corps' revitalization of the full range of amphibious operations.
