Deutsch: Der Bunker wurde in den Jahren 1943 und 1944 zum Schutz der Soldaten der 5. U-Boot-Flotte gebaut. Erst gegen Ende des 2. Weltkrieges durften auch Zivilisten hinein.
Der Bunker hat drei Etagen auf einer Grundfläche von 550 qm. Die Wände waren 2,50 Meter und die Decke 3,70 Meter dick. Im Jahr 2001 kaufte der Verein Mahnmal Kilian e.V. [1] den Bunker. Heute ist er ein Museum und ein Ort der Völkerverständigung und der Bildung durch anschaulichen Geschichtsunterricht. Der Flandernbunker steht seit 2004 unter Denkmalschutz. [2]English: The bunker was built in the years 1943 and 1944. Initially for the protection of the soldiers from the 5. submarine armada. Only later, civilians were allowed to enter this bunker.
The bunker has 3 floors with a base area of 550 square meter. The walls are 2.50 meter and the ceiling is 3,70 meter thick. The association "Mahnmal Kilian e.V." bought the bunker in 2001 and made a museum inside. |
