Description

We have had several glorious Maine summer days in a row and today continued that trend. This carry out restaurant was very busy with almost all of the many tables (a few visible here) occupied. A great day to sit outside and enjoy seafood.

Five Islands Lobster Co. is perched on an active fishing wharf, on the edge of Sheepscot Bay, surrounded by some of the coldest and deepest waters on the coast. Locals here know these waters produce the most delicious and sought-after lobsters to be found anywhere. Nestled in the fishing village islands of Georgetown, also known as “the prettiest harbor in Maine”, Five Islands Lobster Co. stands out in a sea of dining options with the perfect combination of exceptional food and classic Maine atmosphere.

Our “Love Nest” grill serves casual fare including fried seafood baskets, grilled sandwiches and our renowned onion rings. The “Lobster” building offers live or cooked lobsters, steamers, and daily specials like mussels, along with corn on the cob and potatoes and coleslaw. And the “Ice Cream Building” proudly scoops up a wide variety of Annabelle’s Ice Cream.

Our food could not be any fresher. Lobsters are pulled straight from the surrounding waters and are never “tanked-stored”. Our fried selections like haddock, shrimp, scallops and onion rings are hand-breaded, and Downeast Magazine says we have the “Best Fried Clams in Maine”. Stock pots simmer house-made soups in the kitchen. Even our sauces are made here with our own recipes. Why would we top our dishes with anything else? Tartar Sauce with fresh dill and capers, Cilantro Mayo with a kick of jalapeno and lime, and Mustard Dill spread to name a few. [Website]
