| Description |
English: Fishermen's path in the cliff A series of natural ledges in the red sandstone cliff, on the River Eden's right bank convey a (private) footpath along the riverbank without climbing up into the woods above. At this point, a gap in the ledge system has been filled in with this beautifully constructed bit of causeway - although it must disappear under water after even moderate rainfall. The river level shown here is quite adequate for a kayak or canoe trip down the river, but is on the low side, and paddlers would probably prefer a foot or so more water, which would be enough for anglers to get their feet wet on this path ! |
