Description
English: The first Union Jack, representing the union of the kingdoms of England and Scotland, flies in Sydney as monument to the foundation of Australia. During the establishment of the colony of New South Wales on 26 January 1788, this was the flag in the use, and was raised at this location. The modern Australian flag flies from a building in the background. The old Customs House is located on the left.
