Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The lower nearside of First Berkshire & The Thames Valley DME43924 (LK56 JKJ), a Dennis Dart SLF/East Lancs Myllennium, at Merrow park and ride car park, Merrow, Surrey, while on park and ride service 300. The 300 was run by First, mainly utilising the Ride Pegasus school bus vehicles such as this one. In September 2009 Surrey County Council announced a decision to cease funding the Pegasus scheme from July 2010, citing the cost of £900,000 per year as too expensive for a system which served only 1% of Surrey. Despite a petition, Ride Pegasus did end on 23 July 2010 (with Safeguard Coaches taking over Merrow park and ride route 300). Unfortunately I didn't think to take a full photo of DME43924 while here at Merrow park and ride, and in the end I never got a photo of it in Ride Pegasus livery. I took this photo to show how due to works to construct the new waiting room, buses had to stop further along than they would usually, on the curved kerb, which obviously wasn't good, and the two ends (including the doors) were further away from the kerb than they should have been, and the body over the wheelbase came over the kerb, so the driver had to reverse back off again to avoid mounting the kerb. With the lack of other photos of the bus I have decided to upload it.
