Description

English: VFW-614 D-ASAX (MSN G15) and Super Guppy F-GDSG (sn 0003) at Airbus Werk, Finkenwerder near Hamburg, Germany.

The VFW-Fokker 614 (also VFW 614) was a twin-engined jetliner. Originally intended as a Douglas DC-3 replacement, its most distinctive feature was that its engines were mounted in pods on pylons above the wing.

The Aero Spacelines Super Guppy is a large, wide-bodied cargo aircraft that is used for hauling outsize cargo components. In the early 1970s, two SGT aircraft were used by Airbus to transport airplane parts from production facilities to the final assembly plant in Toulouse.
