Title
Figurine of uncertain date
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy figurine of an uncertain date, missing the phallus. The figurine depicts an anthropomorphic naked male figure in a rigid stance, legs together and arms by each side of the torso, not holding the phallus (unlike some other figurines on the database). The figurine is rather childlike; the limbs are short and he has a protruding belly. The arms culminate in rounded stumps with no hands, but the hands do not appear to be missing. Above the legs there is a broken stump which the phallus most likely would have projected from. The figurine is bareheaded and the face is highly stylised, with two round identations for eyes and two oval grooves in place of the mouth and part of the nose. The feet have flat soles and the figurine stands without support. There is no visible evidence to suggest it was attahced to a base. There is a gash on the left arm and recesses on the back of the figurine, which may be results of casting flaws. There are casting seams visible all the way down the sides of the object. The object has a dark green-black pattina and is in fairly good condition. Overall the figurine measures 61.4mm long, 25.9mm wide and 14.4mm thick. It weighs 58.9g.

Overall, the figurine is fairly crude. The figure is stylised and signs of manufacture, such as the casting seams, have not been removed.
