Description
English: July 4, 1911. A parade on Main Street, Ferndale, California. View is looking South from Washington Street along Main Street toward the deforested Wildcat Hills in the distance.

Buildings on the West side of the Ferndale Main Street Historic District are shown: From the right foreground to rear.

  • 475 Main -- Taubman Bros. Cash Clothing House (1898)
  • 455 Main -- The G.W. Williams Building (1888)
  • 425-431 Main -- I.O.O.F. Hall - International Order of Oddfellows - (1875)
  • 421 Main -- H.J. Mueller Building (1893)
  • 409 Main -- Alford's Drug Store (1887)
  • 393 Main -- P.F. Hart Building (1896)
  • 385-389 Main -- Dan A. Branstetter Building (1894)
  • The gap in the buildings was the site of the Gilt Edge Hotel which collapsed in the 1906 earthquake.
