| Description |
English: Fell Lane Farm The minor road in the picture is marked on the OS 1:25000 map as Chishill Lane. Chishill ("cis-hyll") means 'area of gravel', so either suggests that this lane was once very gravelly or gravel was transported along it - possibly from the River North Tyne which is nearby.
Two tractors were at work in the field - possibly seeding (grass for hay) or spreading fertiliser so the truck in the picture is full of seed or fertiliser! |
