Summary
[edit]Optical add-drop multiplexer, based on a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG), and two circulators. 4 channels, depicted as 4 colours, impinge onto an FBG via an optical circulator. The FBG is set to one of the channels, here channel 4, which is reflected back to the circulator where it is directed down and "dropped" out of the system. Since the channel has been dropped, another signal on that channel can be "added" at the same point in the network.
This diagram image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Fbg oadm.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
