e;)SAGE, OR MILLER'S CREAH. SS&^Sffi^K1^ Keen introduced, and is highly prized by all who desire a sweet, JB igbly flavored variety. The melons are of medium size, and as will aon,e seen by our illustration, oval in shape, slightly ribbed, green in iWolor and somewhat covered with a shallow netting. The flesh, »*rhich is very sweet, having but a slight cavity in the center, is of a ich, deep salmon color. In addition to being a most valuable vari- ety for market purposes, we consider it one of the best sorts that fan be grown for private use, as its splendid flavor cannot fail to 'lease everyone. There are many different stocks of this variety on j^he market, but a careful test proves to us that the seed we offer is tjjertain to produce the very best results. The flesh is thick, solid, and of excellent flavor. In many warts of the country this is considered the best variety that can be It,rown for the local markets. H^lesh, orange color, and by many claimed to be equal in quality ^tp the Emerald Gem, which has become such a favorite since its introduction. We cannot recommend this variety too highly to Mi ose of our customers who desire a good canteloupe. Flesh, green, thick, rather coarse and wonderfully ^.veet and of the most delicious flavor. It is largely grown by mar- jjit gardeners in the vicinity of large cities, as its fine appearance ways commands a ready sale. As will be seen by our illustration " Hackensack, it is almost round in shape, and somewhat flattened .•J: each end. The vines are vigorous and enormously productive. ;™kt. 5c, oz. 10c, % lb. 20c, lb. 55c. xtnXTRA EARLY HACKENSACK. ^ELMONICO. CflE, OR BALTIflORE. a variety pos- all of the good lalities of the Large Hackensack, but by careful selection a strain is been secured which will ripen about a week or ten days earlier an the old variety, making ft more desirable where an extra early rge melon is required. Pkt. 5c, oz. 10c, Yi. lb. 20c, lb. 65c. An excellent shippingmelon, which is largely grown in the vicinity of rge cities in the East, for hotel and restaurant use. As will be seen - our illustration,, the fruit is of medium size, oval in shape, and srhtly ribbed at the stem end, ribbed and covered when ripe with a avy netting. The flesh is green, thick, tender and of a sweet, srary flavor. A standard melon that invariably gives satisfaction home or market purposes. Pkt. 5c, Oz. 10c, Yt lb. 20c, lb. 60c \ NDI IPT Claimed by many of the largest melon growers in the Aliyuci • tj_ s. to be the most productive variety ever intro- (teed, and said to yield 25 per cent, more first-class melons to a )ven area than any other variety. The melons are medium-sized, kttened at both ends and beautifully netted. The flesh is deep, very K-eet, and of a rich salmon color. Our stock of this has been care- lly grown and selected, and will be found equal to much of the so- illed "Special selected seed" that is offered at high prices by some Irms. Pkt. 5c, oz. lOc, % lb. 20c, lb. 60c FWPODT A remarkably early green-fleshed variety that is c; w 1 • attracting a great deal of attention in the East at ie present time. The melons are almost round in shape, with a ill green exterior, changing as they ripen to a beautiful golden iade. The skin i< slightly ribbed and closely netted. This must not be confounded with Golden Triumph, for they are entirely distinct, tie Triumph Hybrid is a cross between Columbus and Osage, com- ning all the good qualities of these two excellent melons, and is a rysuperior melon. The beautiful orange flesh is thick and luscious; lens clear to the rind. The melons are medium to large size and autifully netted. Pkt. 5c, oz. 10c, Y± lb. 20c, lb. 65c. RIUMPH HYBRID. BANANA. A novelty in mask melons. This marvelous melon was introduced several years ago, and created a great sensation among the gardeners in all parts of the United States. They often attain a length of twenty-five or thirty inches, and Mk. J. Davis, Long Leaf. N. C, raised a melon measuring nearly four feet long. The flesh is thick, of a rich salmon color, and deliriously flavored when ripe. The vines are wonderfully prolific, often bearing as many as ten or twelve large melons on a single vine. Every one who can spare a few feet in the garden for melons should grow it for family use.
