The Russian Navy's Varyag guided missile cruiser departs Canada Place after a brief four-day visit and attending Remembrance Day services. She was on a long-range tour and exercised with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force, US Navy (Guam Island) and the Canadian Navy (Vancouver Island). Varyag is expect to return to her homeport of Vladivostok early in December 2011. Varyag's main gun for anti-surface and anti-air defence is a 130mm twin barrel AK-130 dual-purpose gun. |
