Description
Français : Construite entre 1845 et 1847, la filature de lin « la Foudre » demeure à son ouverture la plus grande usine du genre en France.

Celle-ci doit son nom à sa source d'énergie, une chaudière récupérée sur un remorqueur " La Foudre " coulé en Seine. Son gigantesque bâtiment, dû à l'architecte écossais Fairbain, est un modèle de l'architecture industrielle du 19ème siècle tant par son aspect que par sa modernité, avec ses planchers "fireproof", c'est-à-dire à l'épreuve du feu. www.petit-quevilly.fr/histoire/histoire/la-foudre/
