Failed bank, St Andrew Square

| Description |
English: Failed bank, St Andrew's Square During the crash in the late 2000s several banks were Nationalised, "nationalised" or forcibly merged. This building was occupied by a bank that failed in a previous downturn being suspected of involvement in various criminal activities. This was the Edinburgh branch of Bank of Credit and Commerce International , BCCI. Infamously BCCI took a few local authorities for several million, notably Eilean Siar.
In the foreground, parking enforcers are impounding another carelessly parked or abandoned car. Quite pleasant to be able to take this photograph as St Andrew's Square was until recently locked off. |
