English: This Copernicus Sentinel-2 image shows the eruption of Iceland’s Fagradalsfjall, or Beautiful Valley Mountain, volcano in March 2021. The volcano lies on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The eruption lasted six months, and it was the first after almost 6,000 years of being dormant. The city of Reykjavík is partially visible in the upper-right of the image. |
