English: Hikmat Taraki, an 11-year-old Afghan boy, relaxes after his immobilization pins were removed by the Forward Surgical Team 4509, April 28. The goat-herding 11-year-old received the pins after a cliff fall in Arghandab province, north of the base, 50 days ago, breaking his leg, suffering head trauma and other minor injuries. The boy was one of the first patients seen by the FST. The 20-person Navy Forward Surgical Team 4509 consists of medics and doctors from 12 different commands, from Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Va., to Okinawa, Japan.
