色のついた時計と針によりDFT行列が表されている。

11の原始根である2を用いて、列については{2^k (mod 11)}、行については {2^(-k) (mod 11)}の数列により、先頭以外に並び替えを施す。この結果、DFT行列は巡回行列となる。巡回行列を作用させることは巡回畳み込みと同値であり、畳込み定理によりFFTを用いた高速化が可能となる。
