Description
English: Planes of Carrier Air Group Nineteen (CVG-19) aboard the carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34) sometime between 1953 and 1955. The planes in the left foreground are Grumman F9F-6 Cougar fighters of fighter squadron VF-191 Satan's Kittens. To the right silver McDonnell F2H-3 Banshee fighters of VF-193 Ghost Riders are visible. In the background Douglas AD Skyraider attack planes are parked: AD-4E or AD-4NA of attack squadron VA-195 Dambusters on the left (tailcode "B"), and AD-4N night attack planes of composite squadron VC-35 Det. E on the right (tailcode "NR").[1]
