Français : Bas relief en bronze du socle du Génie de la Navigation de Louis-Joseph Daumas (1801-1887) érigé en 1847 sur le carré du port de Toulon. "on voit la navigation à son origine et la navigation dans son progrès : la boussole, puis la vapeur, domptent les éléments et font franchir tous les obstacles" (texte extrait de "Le Génie de la Navigation, statue exécutée en bronze par M. Daumas pour la ville de Toulon", Ferdinand Denis, 1847)(108 x 95 cm) > les noms des inventeurs des machines à vapeur sont inscrit sur le bloc en bas au centre : Papin, S.(alomon) Decaus, Watt, Fulton
