Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A U.S. Navy McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A Hornet of Strike Fighter Squadron 195 (VFA-195) "Dambusters" in flight, in 1986. VFA-195 was briefly assigned to Carrier Air Wing Ten (CVW-10), which was established on 1 November 1986 to be deployed on the aircraft carrier USS Independence (CV-62). As visible, CVW-10 had the tail code "NM" of the old CVW-19 which had been disestablished on 30 June 1977, and to which VA-195 had been assigned from 1943 to 1969. However, the new CVW-10 was never deployed and VFA-195 was reassigned to CVW-5 (tail code "NF"), which then deployed on the USS Midway (CV-41).
