English: A German Lockheed F-104G Starfighter aircraft (s/n 26+88) prepares to take off from Manching air base, Bavaria, Germany, on 25 May 1983. 26+88 (c/n 7434) was built by MBB at Manching and had its first flight on 24 August 1972. It was delivered to the German Marinefliegergeschwader 1 (MFG 1) (1st Naval Fighter Wing) on 12 October 1972. It was relocated to MFG 2 on 29 October 1981 and withdrawn from use and stored on 16 July 1986, having flown 2.202 hours. It was sold to the Hellenic Air Force on 15 September 1988 (as "FG-434", 116th Squadron, 335th Wing) and finally withdrawn from use in 1993 and stored Agrinion air base. |
