English: Gouripur house was once the summer resort of the Roychowdhury family , the zamindars of Gouripur located in Mymensingh of Bangladesh. Rabindranath Tagore made the place memorable by staying here several times for extended holidays between April, 1938 and September, 1940. Some of Tagore’s last poems was penned in this house. The poem Janmadin (‘Birthday’) was recited live on All India Radio in 1938 on his 78th birthday from Gouripur house.
