Description Figure 16 from Charles Darwin's The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals. Caption reads "FIG. 16.—Cynopithecus niger in a placid condition. Drawn from life by Mr. Wolf." See figure 17 for similar illustration by the same author. Note that the species is now known as Macaca nigra.
