English: Exposed sand, near Ardmore This is part of an expanse of sand that is exposed at low tide.
The background shows the Firth of Clyde, in the direction of the Holy Loch. The tip of the Ardmore Peninsula is visible at the right of the image, with the Rosneath Peninsula behind it; behind that, in turn, and filling the far background, are the hills of Cowal; the area around Strone (which is close to the mouth of the Holy Loch) is positioned centrally in the background. The land visible at the left of the photograph is the area around Gourock, on the far side of the River Clyde. |
