Exposed chalk layer

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Exposed chalk layer At low water the chalk layer, characteristic for this section of coastline, can be seen extending far out into the sea. It is composed of calcium carbonate from the remains of microscopic marine organisms that once lived in a warm shallow sea which covered this area between 62 and 132 million years ago. On the low foreshore, flint circles can be observed along with paramoudras, also known as pot stones.
