Description
Santa Claus Carnegie brings The Hague a peace temple; but he also needs a stocking to put it in. The caption reads "Santa Claus Carnegie - 'I wonder where this is to be placed? ' Dutchy (from the bed) - 'Say, Santa Claus, can't you furnish me with the stocking, too?'" Carnegie had attempted to donate $1.5 million to construct a Peace Palace at the Hague, but due to legal issues, was forced to create a Dutch company that would carry out his wishes.
