Cet écrasement se produisit lors des dislocationsqui accompagnèrent larrivée des roches éruptives nickeli-fères. Ce conglomérat ou tillite est la seule roche huronienneinférieure que lon connaisse; quand au Huronien moyen,il est entièrement absent. 20 INTÉRIEUR DU BASSIN NICKELIFÈRE. La roche la plus voisine en position est celle de la grandenappe laccolithique éruptive nickélifère, qui forme un fondde bateau de 17 milles de largeur et de 36 milles de longueurdu sud-ouest au nord-est. Ce fond de bateau est terminépar une poupe carrée au nord-est. Comme cette nappeest en réalité beaucoup plus récente que les couches sédi-mentaires qui la surmontent, nous commençons par décrire
