[edit]DescriptionEuston Road area 04.jpg |
English: Heading towards Regent's Park, we spotted this colourful twisting sculpture outside the Holy Trinity Church Marylebone on the Euston Road.
The sculpture is a twisted stack of iridescent, reflective square slabs. I was walking past the church, and wasn't interested in taking the church itself (heading to Regent's Park) The church behind the sculpture was built in 1828 by Sir John Soane. It was one of the so called Waterloo churches, built after an Act of 1818 set aside money to celebrate the defeat of Napoleon. It is now a bookshop (it had fallen into disuse by the 1930s). At one point it was used by the then newly founded Penguin Books |
