Description
Français : "Village de Saint-Pons-de-Thomières". Dans cette œuvre offerte par l’État à la commune, Eugène Baudouin s’est attaché à montrer les caractéristiques locales en composant sa toile sur un seul plan. Avec l’enclos de verdure de la source du Jaur en premier plan, on peux y voir les tours de la Gascagne et du comte Pons, le clocher de l’ancienne cathédrale, les remparts et la maison de Mgr Rouanet dans le quartier du Pioch. Sur fond de collines, la fumée sortant d’une cheminée d’usine rappelle que l’industrie textile a été, en un temps, très active dans dans la commune.
